Fuel tanks removed as Belle Plaine’s Heartland Co-op prepares to close

Workers with American Backhoe Co., Omaha, NE prepare to place an underground fuel tank onto a flatbed at the Heartland Co-op in Belle Plaine Jan. 24. Three tanks were removed this week as the facility prepares to permanently close Feb. 1. Thys Motor Co. purchased the building and will remodel it into a Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership.
