If Amnesty Will Give The Economy The Boost It Needs, Then Why Are…..?
….some people against it? Is there an agenda for those who oppose Amnesty? Because it seems that they don’t care about the rest of us tax paying citizens. What do you think?http://www.newsday.com/news/greenspan-im…

The Economic Boost of Legalization
As President Obama moves to put immigration reform on the table, questions have emerged about his timing. But the more the nation delays introducing a path to legalization for the undocumented immigrants here, the longer we are without a critical foothold towards economic recovery.
Immigrants have fueled the growth and prosperity of the United States, from its inception as a nation. This is no less the case today. Studies from the University of Nebraska at Omaha to Adelphi University in Long Island have shown the net benefit of immigrant contributions—including the undocumented—to cities throughout the country.

Yeah, yeah, Greasy… And there isn’t an agenda for those who support Amnesty either. Yeah right!! Glad to see you’re still blowing hot air about rewarding illegals with yet another amnesty, and how that will save the economy.
You still forget to add in more job losses that are expected to continue. You forget to add in that when the infrastructure projects, and stimulus money are all gone, so go those jobs. Brilliant, you’re just absolutely brilliant.
Besides, didn’t I just inform you the other night that it was the baby boomers who have generated the mass amount of paying into Taxes, and Social Security? I also informed you that it was the Federal government reps who voted on the advice of the President (20 – 30 years ago) to spend that money. It made no sense to leave it sit there and accummulate interest, so that when the baby boomers started to reitre they’d have better to retire with. And lastly that the federal government stills owes all that money back to the American people. Since the federal government taxes us to support them and their spending, when they do decide to pay it all back, we are just paying ourselves to get that money back when the federal government taxes us yet again. I know that multiple taxation is illegal as hell. But that is what our federal, local, and state governments are doing.
Never reward those who are non-citizens illegally here. Then the laws applies equally to those who are and also break the laws, who don’t get rewarded either. See how that works?

Oregon State study says having fewer children is best way to reduce your carbon footprinthttp://www.oregonlive.com/environment/in…
GreenSpace – Overpopulation – LATimeshttp://latimesblogs.latimes.com/greenspa…
Now if we can have fewer children, as suggested in the study, then maybe this should apply to all illegals currently here, and coming in, and cut legal immigration by 1/2 as well.
Edit: Note “Immigrants have fueled the growth and prosperity of the United States, from its inception as a nation.” That means LEGAL immgration. I don’t believe the latter about the illegals contributions. That is just bogus.

Well, “Tony” it seems that your predicated “Boost” would be only temporary,..followed by permanent, irreparable BUST to U.S. & U.S. economy…Best “boost” in this situation would be giving all illegals a “boost” across the border-back to their homes and freeing those millions of jobs for unemployed American citizens-now that would be REAL BOOST to U.S. economy.
GreasyTo on Sat, 26th Dec 2009 7:04 pm
Its a few things.
1) It’s a political move. Idiots think that by granting Amnesty means more Democratic votes. And who’s behind that lie? the Republicans.
2) Racism. And they fuel the hate with the political lie.
3) Misinformation. A lot of anti-immigration groups, and Republican groups are working really hard to spread these lies so people fall into this hate, and anti-immigration way of thinking.
Colonel KFC Sanders on Sat, 26th Dec 2009 7:29 pm
No, i do not believe that. We have +/- 12 million people, US citizens without a job. By allowing the illegals specially from mexico and other latin countries (i mentioned that because they have the biggest percentage) they will take our jobs, the limited government assistance, and other rights that belongs to Americans.
luvameri on Sat, 26th Dec 2009 8:26 pm
And they’ve done such a great job on the southwest. Face it, most of us know that your only agenda here is to destroy all that our forefathers had fought for to give their sons, and daughters some pride when providing for our families. They stood up for years against employers who would exploit, and mistreat their employees to make an extra buck.
rlstaehl on Sat, 26th Dec 2009 9:19 pm
Yeah- so I should let them take my job even if it may require nearly two of them to do so at half the price- that’s just false economy even though on the surface it may save a few penny’s. When will people realize that a lawless state merely benefits the unjustly wealthy. What about their ten offspring that may disrupt our classrooms and city streets?

How many times has the government granted illegals amnesty already???
now those illegals are legal and have brought all their family members here and we have EVEN MORE ILLEGALS IN THE COUNTRY !!!!!
WHEN WILL THE CYCLE OF DEVASTATION STOP????
OH YA, when the country belongs to LA RAZA !!!!!!!!!

I am never for rewarding crime..in any situation.
Edit: I see there are quite a few illegal sympathizers on this site
I could care less I still stand by what I say.
Why cant they take their “great work ethic” and build up their own country instead of breaking down others
Natasha B(blocked by cowards) on Sat, 26th Dec 2009 11:02 pm
an amnesty will cost tax paying citizens billions of dollars
and will make our red numbers skyrocket
rewarding crime has never been a solution to economic problems
we already have too many people to deal with, we certainly don’t need more illegals coming here to cause more trouble
Pepsi Junkie on Sat, 26th Dec 2009 11:48 pm
You grant that kind of amnesty, and they start voting, you can kiss your country goodbye in 5 yrs.

Amnesty Will Cost U.S. Taxpayers at Least $2.6 Trillion
by Robert Rector
WebMemo #1490
The Senate is currently considering a massive immigration reform bill, the “Secure Borders, Economic Opportunity and Immigration Reform Act of 2007″ (S. 1348). This bill would grant amnesty to nearly all illegal immigrants currently in the United States.
The fiscal consequences of this amnesty will vary depending on the time period analyzed. It is expected that many illegal immigrants who are currently working “off the books” and paying no direct taxes will begin to work “on the books” after receiving amnesty, and therefore tax payments will rise immediately. By contrast, under S. 1348, benefits to these immigrants from Social Security, Medicare, and most means-tested welfare programs (such as Food Stamps, public housing, and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) will be delayed for many years. In consequence, then, the increase in taxes and fines paid by amnesty recipients may initially exceed slightly the increase in government benefits received. In the long run, however, the opposite will be true. In particular, the cost of retirement benefits for amnesty recipients is likely to be very large. Overall, the net cost to taxpayers of retirement benefits for amnesty recipients is likely to be at least $2.6 trillion.

It is incrediable that anyone can bring a couple of blogs to this site and claim they are authorities. One of them a Hispanic Support Blog to boot.
In any case, the information up there is number crunching and the same problem exists now as existed in 2006. Illegal aliens are the worlds most expensive workers and we can’t even get close to affording them… holy cow.

amnesty in the past has never worked.
The 1986 amnesty failed spectaculary, why repeat the mistake?
Georgie Anne Geyer discusses the 1986 amnesty, that was supposed to be the amnesty to end all amnesties. (Also here).
…Pete Nunez, the former U.S. attorney for San Diego and a lifelong fighter for immigration control, told me in a recent talk: “Why are those numbers today so high? Because of the amnesty of 1986! Those 2.7 million illegals amnestied were then able, in the decade of the ’90s, to sponsor their family members. That decade turned out to have the highest number of legal immigrants practically in our history, because of the amnesty.”
Here at the busy port of entry, in my long conversations with officials of the Department of Homeland Security, which encompasses immigration, border patrol and customs, there is unanimous agreement with this interpretation.
“The ’86 experience definitely led to family reunification,” Lauren Mack, customs and border protection public affairs officer, agreed. “We watched that amnesty — it only created more fraud and more problems.”
…The 1986 amnesty was not to be the first of many amnesties, nor a kind of experimental plug in the flow of human beings from a poor country to a rich one. To the contrary, it was to be the “last amnesty.” Pushed by liberals in Congress like Teddy Kennedy, it was supposed to settle and legalize the illegals already in the United States, while controlling future immigration. It was to be the solution.
Instead, those 2.7 million settled in America and, under the dominating “family reunification” policy, were able immediately to sponsor almost any number of relatives, some bringing in 80 or 90 persons. And because the enforcement aspects of the law were never put into practice, the 1986 amnesty left the gate open to still more massive numbers. Meanwhile, the proposed new guest worker programs before Congress almost all provide for some kind of amnesty that will lead only to a repeat of 1986…
It is truly scary how the same organizations (such as the National Immigration Forum) and politicians (such as Big Ted) that were involved in the 1986 amnesty are trying to fool the U.S. once again.

I have a feeling that you don’t even have a job little tony. No taxpayer in this country is going to be thrilled with their taxes going to fund anything for illegals. You love to ignore the truth and you also love to blend the legal immigrants with the illegal immigrants. So are you saying that there is no path to legalization for the undocumented immigrants (ILLEGALS) here? Because it sure sounds like that is what you’re saying. We all know that is another of your b.s. lies. They have options. They just don’t like their options because they take too long or their too much trouble or whatever. If they wouldn’t have come here illegaly, then they wouldn’t be penalized. WE’VE CATERED TO DISRESPECTFUL AND UNAPPRECIATIVE illegals in more ways than I can count. Of course, that just isn’t good enough is it? You want us to change the laws for them now. Honestly Tony, I can’t wait until you move out of your illegal daddy’s house and have your own family. Then we will see how eager you are to sacrifice the well being of your children so that an illegal family can have a better life. Let’s just see how “selfish” you are when you have children to think about.
